When I started writing professionally in 2016, it took me WEEKS to write a blog post. Literally.
Today it takes me 90 minutes (including editing and publishing).
If you're a slow writer like I was, try this:

If you're a slow writer like I was, try this:
2) Have your research ready
Research is the #2 thing that slows down your writing process (I'll share #1 in a minute)
Collect every you need ahead of time. I do research passively by keeping a list of topic ideas and linking research when I come across it during the day.

3) Create a bullet draft
A bullet draft is a list of all your ideas for your piece in bullet form.
Don't worry about drafting paragraphs and such. Just get your ideas on paper.
Set a time for 10 minutes. Write 15-20 bullets

4) Write fast (and don't edit)
The #1 thing that slows down your writing is trying to edit at the same time. Don't do it!
Write your entire first draft without editing. This will cut your writing time by several hours.

5) Edit in stages
When you do finally edit, do it in stages.
Stage 1: Concept
Stage 2: Structure
Stage 3: Line by line
Stage 4: Voice
Stage 5: Grammarly (seriously)
This looks like a lot, but the process will save you time.

5) Stop tweaking and just publish.
I used to endlessly make edits, afraid to actually ship my piece.
Now, after my last round of edits, I send it off and move to the next piece.

Being a slow writer is not a lifetime sentence.
With the write process, you can write WAY more in less time.
And finally start to build the audience you deserve.
