Okay, so my project today was to tackle this TV. I ended up turning it into a bookshelf, which I thought was ironically cool.
I watched videos about these old TVs, and learned how the electron generator shoots electrons through the magnetic field coils, bouncing it off the fluorescent particles inside the glass, and the changing fields pinpoint the electron streams to create the image.
This was so fun! I hate to waste the glass screen, but I donβt have a clue what to do with it. Anyone got any bright ideas?
One other observation - it was nostalgic and sad to dismantle this old piece of technology, because every single part was Made in the USA.
