I'm back with another dreadful tale. inspired by actual events. Circa 2007–2008, extended family. Another horrifying story that illustrates how women are treated in society.

It happened in one of the tier 3 towns. Anusha was married to Aviroop at the age of 14. Anushas father was a head master of a school. Still he forced his daughter to get married at the age of 14. Aviroop was unemployed when he got married.
At the time of marriage Aviroop was just 21. He had not completed his college and worked as assistant in his uncles firm. The time was 1985. Aviroop had no home in city. Just because he belonged from once well known family, Anusha was married to him.
Soon after getting married life turned hell for Anusha. She was straight away taken by Aviroop to his village. After reaching for the first time , every expectation of the big family fell apart. Aviroop had nothing except on mud house. So called other rich people were no so rich
Life started off for the young Anusha. Wake up early, go to fields along with other women. Since they had no toilet in their homes. Come back. Wipe the whole floor with cow dung. Then once Aviroop wakes give him tea and breakfast.
After that Aviroop used to go to the nearest town for work. While Anusha used to spend her days, being bullied by the other women of the house. Afternoon she had almost nothing to eat. So all she used to eat was some boiled rice with salt and mustard oil.
During the initial six months of her life. She is used to cry endlessly. The family women used to take care but later no one paid heed to her and she was left all be herself. Life went on for her like this. Post marriage neither her father or brother cared about her condition.
2 years after marriage Anusha at the age of 16 had her first child. Aviroop by then managed to gather some money and opened a small shop in the village. Things improved for the family but Anusha developed menstural problems. Now talking about menstural issue was forbidden.
She developed profuse bleeding and Aviioop instead of taking care of her. Made her do more home work. Infact as Aviroops conditions improved financially, guests started pouring in. The young Anusha was forced to cook in wood oven with cow dung with heavy menustral bleeding.
Again two years later Anusha gave birth to her second child. With the birth of the second child. Her issue became more serious. Now she was respnsbile for taking care of the two kids. Sometimes guests used to come and stay for months. While Aviroop had no symphathy for his wife.
As the kids grew up and Aviroop had some capital in his hand. They moved to a tier 3 town and rented a home. All this time Anusha used to had terrible menstural bleeding and suffered acute weakness. Yet, no one was botherred about her. Her life was like a caged prisoner.
Wake up, prepare kids, hear insults from Aviroop, prepare food for lunch and then rest for the day due to her physical weakness. Also Aviroop had a weird habit of insulting and belitting Anusha infront of the guest. Speak bad words and insult her like anything.
All this time Anushas father and mother were least bothered about her. Sometimes she used to complain about her life, yet the response was usual. Its all your luck, you have to bear it. Infact the brothers were also scared. They were scared if their sister might ask for a share.
In father property. This went on for 20 years. Abuses, insulted and persistant menstural issue. Aviroops shop turned big and with that his ego turned bigger. He further used to belittle Anusha and insulted her infront of everyone. When she used to complain about her menstural..
Issue, he used to go to local stores and gave random painkillers, sterioids, expired medicines, fake ayurvedic medicines and any drug which any random xyz suggested. Slowly her healthy declined with time. Severe bleeding and weakness , combined with making food for guests..
The sons were also quite ignorant like their father. They finished off school and went outside. No symphathy and carining about their mother. On her 41 st year Anusha developed severe illness. Still Aviroop didnt cared. The scene of the week before she died are gut wrenching.
Her whole of bed sheets were filled with blood. Everyday she used to wash it all by herself. The varandha in which she used to wash it used to be completely red. She became too weak and during last day she bled so much that she even lost her consciousness
She stayed in unconsicous state for hours , surrounded with blood. Yet no one cared. Late night when Aviroop returned he rushed her to nearest hospitals. Yet, at very night she died of multi organ failure.
After her death, entire family came and cried. The ones who didnt even cared about Anusha also came and showed their BS symphathy. But nothing changed for Aviroop.
Within 5 years Aviroop went in relation with his house help. Now happily married to her. While Anusha and her existance and memory are not even present in the house. The kids too got married and moved on wih their lives.

I have toned down a lot of events which I think is not approporiate to share on social media. But I have shared the crux of the event. Names are changed for privacy reasons and things have been a bit tonned down. People who think its an episode of some crime show can think so.

Women Menstruation is still one of the biggest taboo which the society still refuses to address.
Because of unavailability of sanitary pads and proper medical support . A number of women looses their lives every year
