How to validate your SaaS idea *before* you start building.
→ In less than 10 days
→ For less than $200
→ In 3 simple steps
Let's see how 🧵👇
Step 1: Set up a landing page.
Describe your product idea, the features, and the problem you want to solve.
Tools:
shuffle.dev to create the landing page.
copy.ai to create the copy.
figma.com to create the graphics.
On the pricing page, include a simple form to join the waiting list for your product.
Use this to collect emails.
Tools:
zapier.com to handle form submissions.
airtable.com to store the emails.
Step 2: Create ads for Facebook / Google.
Create some thumb-stopping ad creatives for your SaaS.
Present your offer in an enticing way 🚀
Tools:
canva.com to create graphics
anywords.com to create ad copy
When you design your ad creatives - be clear about the fact that this is a pre-launch.
Present the problem you're solving, and highlight the benefits of joining early.
Step 3: Set up an ad campaign on Facebook and Google.
Set the budget to around $10-$12/day and let it run for 7-10 days.
Tools:
facebook.com
ads.google.com
Before you create the campaigns, try to do a little research about your ideal user.
Use this to narrow down the target group.
If you have a customer list from a similar SaaS, you can create a so-called lookalike audience to get even better results 👌
Finally - let the campaign run, and see how many sign-ups you get!
It's a great idea to settle on a target number before starting the experiment.
If you reach the target → you can consider your idea validated 💪
🎁 Bonus tip:
See if you can charge people money for joining the waiting list.
It's not always a viable option - but if you can make it work, you can consider your validation 10x stronger.
⚠️ Finally: Remember that validating your idea doesn't mean that your business is guaranteed to survive.
It's an early indication of interest. Treat it as such.
So, to summarize:
→ Set up a landing page + email form.
→ Create enticing ad creatives.
→ Run ads for $10-$12/day for 7-10 days.
Validate if the number of sign-ups matched or exceeded what you were aiming for.
