One of the fastest growing personal brand of our time:
Alex Hormozi
He's built a following of over 1.9 million entrepreneurs within the last year.
After watching him for 6 months...
Here are 7 strategies he uses to build an electrifying audience:
Quick stats on Alex if you're unfamiliar:
• He's 33 years young
• Been working out since 15 💪🏾
• Iranian-American Entrepreneur
• In 2021, he crossed $100m in networth
• Has 1.9M+ followers across 5 platforms
• Supported 1500+ gyms to a $1b in combined evaluation
A quick breakdown of his social media following ( as at 08/11/2022 )
Tiktok → 535k+
Twitter → 198k+
Linkedin → 47k+
YouTube → 552k+
Instagram → 611k+
Total: 1,943,000+
What can you learn? Let's find out:
1) Credibility
The key to creating an impact is to answer the question:
"Why should people listen to me?"
For Hormozi... He's a freaking $100,000,000 CEO! I'll listen to that.
He's also the author of a fantastic book.
The first six letters of the word AUTHORITY is "author". So he ticked that box.
But then, Alex didn't stop there.
He also associates himself with top marketing celebrities like
→ Russell Brunson
→ Lewis Homes
→ Tom Bilyeu
→ Ali Abdaal
...et al.
There are two ways to establish credibility/authority
1) Self-Credibility
2) Borrowed Credibility
Hormozi leverages on both. Simultaneously.
EVERYDAY!
2) Niche of one
"Escape competition through authenticity"
- Naval Ravikant
Alex is a lot more than authentic.
He's a walking anomaly.
- He's literally Hulk
- He's married to his cofounder (rare)
- He has an *interesting* fashion sense
He's competing with no one because of how authentic (weird) he is.
Alex's content is a mix of:
• Sales
• Mindset
• Investing
• Nutrition
• Entrepreneurship
• Relationship advice, etc
What does that say?
Your niche is NOT a topic.
Your niche is your story.
3) Catchy Motto
"I have nothing to sell you"
...definitely cuts through the noise in the world of sales (where everyone is selling something).
"Who the heck is this guy?"
I bet that's the response he wanted.
But this wasn't clickbait.
He commited to it.
He literally sells nothing - except his book
A motto is what people remember you by. The one above is powerful.
Now... He may not sell coaching and courses but he does have an end goal, which is:
4) Clear Intentions
People always wanna know the true intentions behind something.
Hormozi knows this so he didn't just end at "I have nothing to sell you".
He also clarifies his selfish reason for giving value. Its:
"To help business owners below $3m/yr get there and then invest with Acquisition to scale them to $100m/yr"
His content is both ways:
• He's attracting $3m CEOs
• He's training anything below to become his target audience.
He solves problems for both in different media
• Product/Book - both
• Content - Biz owners (<$3m)
• Services - Biz owners (>$3m)
Interesting plan.
5) Shadow marketing
Does anyone notice that he always has the acquisition cap on?
I can't be the only one right?
Its something i notice most entrepreneurs do.
@KSI with PRIME
@danlok with his book "Unlock it"
@fullsendpodcast with Happy Dads
They keep their product in your face every time you watch their content to trigger "familiarity".
The more familiar you and i are with something, the likelier we are to buy.
Nice strategy, won't you agree???
6) Repurposing
For someone who is new to the content creation scene...
Hormozi is a genius.
He clips every thing he shows up on - live events, podcast episode , etc
And turns them into short content.
He posts some of his best performing tweets as reels on Instagram.
He turns some high performing tweets into short videos.
He converts some long-form content into reels or tiktok videos.
And then he turns some YouTube content into podcasts.
Nothing is Original.
7) Cross-Pollination.
Social media is rented property with a twist.
You might pay your rent on time (show up daily) but still get kicked off - due to many reasons.
Hormozi knows this well so he moves the around his followers so if one platform falls...
He survives.
Like:
He makes shorts of most YouTube videos and upload them to his Insta + Tiktok.
He started this in September and it caused a surge in his content watch time.
He also posts tweets as reels to attract IG followers to Twitter.
And of course... The new newsletter he opened as well.
TL:DR?
