You need this one Old Money Family skill that will set up your children and grandchildren for LIFE.
Give me 2 minutes to explain the secret to how Old Money Families keep and grow their wealth for a 100+ years:
"Knowing The World Of Work."
What's The Secret?
Old Money Families do WHATEVER it takes to help their younger generation make EDUCATED decisions about their CAREER PATH.
Try and ask any Old Money Family to tell the secret of their success. You'll get a lot of doors politely but firmly closed on your face. They're famously private.
If you can find one of them in a charitable mood, you'll find out that this is really their #1 thing.
Sure, family wealth is useful.
It gives children amazing opportunities to grow and succeed. But the quickest way to kill it is children who don't know how to make money themselves.
Once the trust funds start flowing, it's hard to turn them off. The family bank gets drained.
So what is an Old Money parent to do?
Cast as MUCH vision as possible, as EARLY as possible, into the wide world of work and career.
How?
They reach deep into their Rolodex and have their children visit family friends at their place of work for a day or week.
Sure, it's one thing to want to be a vet when you're young. Or be "interested in finance". Maybe kick around the "law school" option.
It's a different thing entirely to personally shadow and sit in on the days of doctors, politicians, attorneys, or entrepreneurs.
These first-hand, real world experiences offer more concentrated experience in 1 day than most 4 year college degrees.
Old Money Families gently guide and place their children into careers that match their gifting and compensate them well for excellent work.
So what's your next step?
You need to get together with your friends and family and setup reciprocal shadow arrangements. Do this today. You'll find they are thrilled to play a part.
For example: your son shadows your attorney friend while his daughter sits in your enterprise sales calls. The next week, you rotate to the next friend.
Soon, your deep network and community is giving your children access that others could only dream of.
Tell your children that this is their chance to learn and absorb as much as possible. Encourage them to ask questions. Ask them what they thought of the experience, what surprised them, what they liked & didn't like.
They'll be MILES ahead of their peers. And well on their way.
