On the one hand, there is understandable pride that someone in the diaspora has done well: I remember how delighted all of us were when V S Naipaul got his Nobel Prize in literature.
On the other hand, what is the tangible value to India of Sunakβs rapid rise to the leadership of what is, let us be honest, a racist, white supremacist, imperial nation that is staring at the edge of an economic precipice?
