I’ve created 100+ landing pages.
Combined they have generated millions of dollars in sales.
Here are 25 tips to help you sell more:
Thread
1/ Add more headlines.
Most people skim through the copy.
Break your copy into multiple short sections.
Make your headlines tell the story so skimmers can get your message.
2/ Add many bullet points.
They’re very persuasive.
One great bullet point can get you a sale.
3/ Don’t be clever – be clear.
If you make your readers do a doble check…
They’ll lose focus.
And when they do…
they’re gone.
4/ Tell stories with your headlines.
Go from:
“Here’s how John lost 10lb in 10 weeks”
to:
“John went from feeling ashamed that he let himself go to gaining the confidence to take his shirt off while going for a run at the park.”
5/ Make it clear for who your offer is
Have you ever read something and think,
“This sounds promising”
But then you realize it’s not meant to help you, but a whole different group of people?
I have.
Be clear about who your product is for.
6/ Describe your bonuses in detail.
Some people just buy for the bonuses.
Maybe it’s a template they need.
Or the checklist.
Make sure to highlight your bonuses
7/ Low-readability kills conversion – use readable fonts
Never use Script fonts on your landing pages.
They’re unreadable.
Sans-serif fonts are better for readability.
8/ Use contrasting color to make your text pop
Use apps like Color Contrast Checker to see if your content is readable.
9/ Use simple CTAs to leave no room for misinterpretation.
Around your CTA, you can also:
- Explain what the next step is
- Showcase payments methods icons
- Tell your prospects their info is safe
10/ Make use of white space to make your page skimmable.
White spaces also give your eyes a rest and make the sales page easy to read and navigate.
11/ Tell customer stories instead of yours.
The reason is simple:
Your customers’ stories give you more credibility and show that others can achieve results.
12/ Only promote one product.
Focus. Focus. Focus.
Remember to follow the rule of ONE:
- One problem
- One solution
- One big idea
- One customer avatar
13/ Video testimonials are the ultimate credibility booster.
Add subheadings and footnotes to each video testimonial explaining:
- Who is the client
- Why is this case relevant
- What the client achieved
14/ Make your copy conversational
Use:
> short sentences
> simple words
> ‘you’ instead of ‘I’ or ‘we’
15/ VSLs print money
Video Sales Letters are a great way to build trust.
- Tell your story
- Explain your process
- Explain your mechanism
And remember to add a clear CTA at the end.
16/ Make your page load under 2 seconds
Research says that conversion rates drop by an average of 4.42% with each additional second of load time.
Sites like Gtmetrix let you test your load speeds.
17/ Remove the main navigation from your landing pages.
Focus on the product.
And don’t distract your readers.
18/ Make your buttons orange to increase clicks.
And remember to add compelling copy to your button.
"Add to cart" isn't enough, use a clear Call To Action:
- "Book your call"
- "Secure your ebook"
19/ Optimize your landing pages for mobile.
Mobile traffic is +70% of all traffic.
Make sure you landing pages load fast and looks great on mobile
20/ Display trust symbols.
5-star ratings and brand logos add authority and social proof to your landing pages.
@thejustinwelsh does this on all his sales pages.
21/ Use longer copy
Long copy answers more objections
KISSmetrics ran an experiment on their homepage.
The original version of the homepage had 1,300 words.
And it outperformed a newer version containing just 500 words.
22/ Repeat your CTA on long pages.
Remember to place your CTA at strategic points.
- Below the product presentation
- Below the bonuses
- Below the price anchoring section
- Below the P.S.
23/ Avoid pop-ups
There’s nothing more obnoxious than being served a pop-up when you’re invested in reading a copy.
No pop-ups in your sales pages.
24/ Answer questions with a FAQ section
People usually want to know your guarantee, how long it’ll take them to go through your programs, etc.
FAQs are perfect for handling objections.
25/ Create urgency with countdown timers
Urgency makes people feel they’ll miss out if they don’t take swift action.
Countdown timer serve as reminders that they’ll miss out.
That's a wrap!
