Aced the practical driving test on first attempt, the world’s most powerful driving licence secured.
From my experience, the following are some tips, for foreign drivers/applicants, to pass the UK practical test
1. Enroll in a few hours of refresher driving lessons( regardless of how long you’ve been driving abroad or in the UK on an international licence. Spend some pounds on driving lessons to unlearn some bad driving habits that’d cause you to fail the practical test.
The lessons would help you to develop DVSA-acceptable driving skills and other driving tips.
2. Don’t be over confident about your past driving skills. I’ve been driving from Nigeria since 2013 and have driven about 7000 miles in the UK on an international licence.
Probably, I might have failed the test if I had taken the test without having 5 hours of driving lesson with an instructor. So consider point 1 to be highly important if you plan to pass the test on first attempt.
3. Watch driving mock tests videos on YouTube, and other relevant videos on mirrors, signalling, roundabouts, and parking.
I found the following YouTube channels useful:
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
4. Prepare for your driving test by familiarising yourself with the route and likely "show me, tell me" safety questions.
5. Relax and stay focused throughout the test.
