This procrastination cure works 99% of the time.
The 2-Minute Method:
I'm going to keep this short and sweet.
Here's what you're going to do:
1. Set a timer for 2 minutes
(I told you I only needed 2 minutes)
Why 2 minutes?
Because everyone has 2 minutes.
No excuses.
2. Start a task you've been putting off
Choose a task you've been dreading.
Maybe you've been putting it off for days, even weeks.
Sound hard?
No.
This is actually where it gets easy...
3. Work on it for 2 minutes
Only 2 minutes?
Yes.
Easy right?
4. Stop working on the task (or continue if you want)
That's it.
You did it.
Now you can stop.
But, odds are that if you actually followed these instructions — you won't want to stop.
It's funny.
The tasks that are so scary in our minds, are never nearly as bad in reality.
Once you get over that initial barrier of starting, you'll find yourself actually wanting to continue working.
The key is to just start reallyyy small.
Make it so easy to start that you feel stupid making excuses.
