If you want a high-quality lead list, then forget about using Apollo.
Everybody’s using it and so those prospects get pitched 100X more than others.
+ You’ll be coming off as a non-relevant spammer.
Here’s the solution:

Here’s the solution:
STEP 1
Go to Upwork and post a job listing and make the title:
Lead scraper NEEDED - *niche* companies
E.g.
Lead scraper NEEDED - EdTech companies

For the job description use this template:
Hey,
I need someone to help us build a list of *Title* at *Niche* companies that are *Condition* (e.g. based in LA, offering same-day delivery,...)
We need this information:

We need this information:

- Email address
- LinkedIn profile
The leads must be verified (using Neverbounce or some other cleaning software).
We need a list of 500 companies.
Again, the companies must be *condition* - please start your cover letter with *random word* so I know you read it.
Thanks!

STEP 2
Ask the applicants about their process of finding leads.
If they say they use Apollo or other easy-to-access databases, that’s a red flag 🚩
Instead, we want to hire people who use less mainstream ways of finding leads (manually, Google, event attendees,..)

The thing is, you can never actually control whether they use these databases or not, but you can eliminate the hires that do by filtering out visible red flags.
STEP 3:
Negotiate the price.
It’s up to you if you want to pay hourly or per lead.
I recommend a fixed price per package of leads (e.g. $150 for 500 leads)
You may think "That’s too much for lead sourcing!"
You can just scrape Apollo but have fun with your 2% response rate.

STEP 4:
Once you got your list, pick randomly 10 leads from it and manually check if they match the criteria you asked for.
If not, ask for a revision/refund.
If yes, congrats, now you have a list that’ll print meetings for you.
