While the basic premise is same, project mgmt has its own flavors

Some of the project management practices are different in different parts of the world.
To ensure, only the practices that are common around the globe are included in the exam, PMI came up with a mandate.

PMI would bring in 100s of PM books from around the world & we should use those books to come up with questions.
The mandate: Every concept that we are including in a question must have been described similarly at least in 2 books that are published in 2 different countries

Assumption was, that will minimize inclusion of unique practices that might be limited certain part of the world.
Likewise, if you made a thesis on a company, validate it with multiple sources such as

various brokerage reports, credit rating reports, concalls, valuepickr, twitter threads etc. and take only that information that's common across.
Plus, validate with individuals and groups who might be following those companies.
Minimize misinformation = minimize losses!
