One terrible practice of Christianity is miracle mongering.
Churches which advertise their miracles make a joke of the religion. And it's an appeal to people who see Christianity as a movement where Holy Spirit-empowered ministers solve all their problems.
In addition, said ministers focus on Bible passages which focus on solving financial issues, fighting unseen enemies and enriching themselves.
The concept of understanding the nature of the Triune God is hardly preached. The values of human interaction encouraged by Christ
are dismissed.
The subconscious definition of a "man of God" isn't one who understands the Bible and can explain to others, but one "carried in the Spirit and capable of doing signs and wonders".
These so-called "signs" are the reasons Christ bashed the Pharisees.
Yet, look at us today.
The way many people see churches are no different from the way they see shrines:
A place to go seek divine intervention from the god(s).
