It is going to be interesting to see how population decline in the 2030s and 2040s actually plays out.
Right now people pretend economic crisis and supply-driven inflation on basic goods is temporary. It's not. Will be interesting to see how people process that ideologically.
The war on wokeness, war to defend "meritocracy" is like the bargaining phase of population decline. If people can't have kids without falling down the class ladder, they stop having kids. Probably we will see a belated rationalization for voluntary childlessness on the right.
BAP and people like him are already close to that line, playfully toying with the suggestion that marriage and kids aren't really needed. While BAP's relationship to the fairer sex is probably, uhh, pretty complicated, on average this seems like making a virtue out of necessity.
Given the high risk of the US losing its "exorbitant privilege" and a massive loss in living standards, hitting the right leaning parts of the middle class particularly hard, i expect the pro-life movement to basically drop like a rock, losing all of its ""elite"" support.
The US is likely looking at an equally bad or even worse version of Russia in the 90s, with its famous demographic "death cross". I don't think being a pro-life Russian guy in 1992 felt very empowering or gopeful, to say the least.
