1. Adhikāra above all is a spiritual concept. Failure to heed Adhikāra results in fruitlessness at best or bad phala here or hereafter.

@Jayasimha108 @ewcaliptias 2. I waited 2+ years to learn from a Vaidika formally before I could recite 5 mantras sacred to Śiva although I had known these 5 by hearing countless times. Adhikāra is about going beyond the realm of temptation into the realm of reverence.

@Jayasimha108 @ewcaliptias 3. I am familiar with what could happen when you don’t respect Adhikāra.
That it doesn’t affect everyone is because the unaffected ones are “dead wires”, shut off from genuine spiritual experiences, whether good or bad. Not something to be happy about.

@Jayasimha108 @ewcaliptias 4. To conclude my point here, since Adhikāra is a spiritual concern & ppl can always choose to adhere to it even if ved.pdf is a couple of clicks away, it is perfectly meaningful to emphasize it.
