@PeterBoettke @BrianCAlbrecht As I've explained before, we do not see the same world here, we are in different explanatory worlds/paradigms. The crucial thing is the causal difference that does the causal explaining, and it's learning/changes in understand, and it is not the ability to choose.
@PeterBoettke @BrianCAlbrecht I get that Hayek muddles things with his vocabulary. Hayek seems to see clearly the limits of the action/choice paradigm when talking about Mandeville identifying the problem but miscasting it's nature and missing its full solution. Hume & Smith do better in Hayek's lights.
@PeterBoettke @BrianCAlbrecht Note well that the core of Hume and Smith does not focus on choice and action, but on rule following, imitation, discovery, and learning.
@PeterBoettke @BrianCAlbrecht Choice/action simply don't get at the things which do the coordination, and its the coordination that is what needs explaining, and is the marvel.
