After posting jobs/new NOCs that you can use to apply for permanent residence in Canada, many new people in our corner asked how to apply
We've shared this before, I'll summarize again.
This is how to apply for permanent residence in Canada (Express Entry) in 8 simple steps>>>
1) Check which of the subcategories of the Express Entry system you are eligible for at bit.ly
There are 3 subcategories in Express Entry. Most people applying from outside Canada will apply using the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Program
Take note of this.
2) Write your language test (Yes, it is compulsory)
If you want English, you will do IELTS or CELPIP (General Training). If you want French, do TEF or TCF
Also, pass well. The higher you have the better. I recommend CLB 9 or more (In IELTS, it is at least Listening 8; others 7)
3) You need to evaluate any Degree you have from outside Canada. It's called Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
The organizations that can do this are at bit.ly
If your highest education is a Masters or Ph.D., evaluate just the Masters or Ph.D. alone
4) Once you've done steps 2 & 3, it's time to get into the Express Entry pool & set up your Express Entry profile (you need 2 & 3 for this)
But first, calculate your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score, and keep that somewhere
You can calculate here bit.ly
5) Now set up your profile at bit.ly
If you don't make a mistake, you will get the same score as your CRS in the profile
6) Express Entry draws are done every 2 weeks, if your CRS meets the cut-off, you will be invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada
7) Once you are invited, you will accept the invitation, upload ALL applicable documents, and pay your application fees.
See the docs to upload at bit.ly
This will include documents such as proof of work experience, police report, medicals, proof of funds, etc.
8) After your final submission, you will wait for your application to be processed & for an immigrant visa to be issued
How long will the processing take? It could take up to 6 months (or more, or less)
Thereafter, the next is to arrive in Canada and hear “Welcome to Canada!”
As mentioned, this is just a summarized version of what to do to become a permanent resident in Canada in 8 steps
