1/ At least 27 people have been killed in Russia itself (plus Crimea) by Ukrainian attacks, according to the We Can Explain Telegram channel. This excludes a number of accidental landmine deaths. It highlights the extent to which the war is affecting Russia's border regions. ⬇️
2/ Cross-border shelling has affected several regions along the Russia-Ukraine border, especially Belgorod oblast. There have also been fatalities in Bryansk and Kursk oblasts, plus three dead in the 8 October Kerch Bridge attack in Crimea.

3/ "The largest number of incidents occurred in the autumn, with Belgorod region suffering the most. In total, at least 27 people have been victims of various attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian territory since the start of the war, according to open data.
4/ 📍 The first victim on 24 March was priest Oleg Artemov. According to the Moscow Patriarchate, the archpriest "came under fire from the Ukrainian Smerch and died while performing his duties as assistant to the unit commander for work with the faithful."
5/ 📍 On 11 May, the village of Solokhi in Belgorod was shelled, killing one person. On 3 July, as a result of a series of night attacks, five people were killed. Three of them were Ukrainian citizens who had fled the war from Kharkiv.
6/📍 On 5 July, two vehicles carrying Russian border guards were attacked near Belgorod. One of them was killed. On 20 July, a resident of the village of Nekhoteevka became a victim of the shelling.
7/ 📍 On 12 September, the Logachevka border checkpoint was attacked. An 80-year-old Ukrainian citizen was killed as a result of the incident. Four days later, the border town of Valuiki came under fire, killing one person.
8/ 📍 On 3 October, Belgorod authorities reported an attack on the village of Golovchino. A 48-year-old woman was killed due to shells hitting the centre of the village.
9/ On 13 October, three Rosgvardia officers were killed when shelling hit the village of Oktyabrsky. On 22 October, the town of Shebekino came under fire, authorities reported two deaths.
10/ 📍 On 15 November, Shebekino came under fire again, with two people killed on the spot. Later, an 80-year-old pensioner died in an operating theatre. On the same day, Valuyki was shelled, with one dead.
11/ On 18 November, an 80-year-old pensioner was the victim of shelling in the village of Ustinka.
Other regions are also subjected to shelling, but there are far fewer casualties.
In the Kursk and Bryansk regions, two people were killed by shelling on 19 May and 26 July.
12/ On 8 October, the Crimean bridge was blown up, with the Russian Investigative Committee reporting three casualties. /end
