"A samurai's word is harder than metal."
Part Three - The Finale
THREAD
Here is part 1:
Here is part 2:
Because you drew the promise deeper, and more inward, closer to your heart —
From your spoken word it goes deeper. First to thought. Then deeper to your soul. Etching, crawling, drilling, scorching along its path.
—that it started to mean the world, that it became important, and once of importance it became a driving force, guiding and empowering each word.
They always ask, What does it mean to be a samurai? A samurai’s word is bond, is harder than metal. Very much so like his sword. And if he were, swordless, weaponless, he’d still have his most formidable weapon, and ally, at his disposal, his word, for it is harder than metal.
And for the modern day samurai, if one were to never have the opportunity to lift up the sword, you will still always be able to cut through the noise, the nonsense, the lies, by speaking with virtue, originality, sincerity, authority, so true and free and consistent it seems
insane, and so word by word you start to dent reality and come closer to the Gods.
Modern Day Word
The other day I wrote the following:
Random internet stranger, who you never met, who you can never call in the dark jet of night, who will never have your back in a life and death situation: I love you bro. That person neither loves you, nor is your "bro".
Modern day people sling around words with cavities.
This also has to do with “word”; not as in keeping your word, but almost in a very literal sense what your word means.
It’s very Modern, Western, to amplify words to give it a zinger hue to it; instead of saying, I like it, they say, I LOVE it. Instead of saying, I dislike it, they say, I HATE it. I get it.
It’s more assertive, discerning, empowering, out there, look at me, and look at how cool I am, and how well I know my sh, it’s quite flaunty and it’s uncanny how telling it is of the current times.
This came to me when I was having a discussion with my good russian friend,
and he made a flippant remark, but it hit home nonetheless, he said: “Everyone is so overly friendly these days, and they all call each other bro this, bro that, I’ve always been hesitant about that.” And that lit up multiple tangents in my mind.
First what we have spoken about above, how modern day word has almost become devoid of meaning. There can be no night without day, no dark without light; if you keep calling everything light, there is no dark left, and light is not really light, there is no meaning left anymore.
This is what happens when everything is, Super, great, awesome, epic, cool, dope. This is when you LOVE everything.
This is when you stop being sincere, and thus lose a pivotal part of being authentic, this is when your core breaks down and everything becomes shallow, and superficial. External, instead of beaming from an internal soul space.
