If one were to look at the relationship between the Ulama and the rulers and compare it with the relationship between scientists and rulers, they would see a big contrast. Ulama have always abstained from ever being close to the rulers knowing how unjust rulers can corrupt them.
They would distance themselves from the rulers. Some would even equate the act of sitting with the rulers like sitting with the heretics.
While scientists, would cheer the moment their research gets funding of millions or even billions of dollars from their government,
not realizing (perhaps they do) that the government can influence them to alter the results of their experiments in order to fit in with the agenda of whoever is in power.
Perhaps they would say that there is a "gay" gene of some sort or even evolution. But the biggest problematic part of this is that it is enforced on the people and make them accept it as hardcore facts.
This can cause doubts in the minds of Muslimeen and we have seen it ourselves in the west, where some even are trying to alter the meanings of The Glorious Quran in order to appease the false theory of evolution!
The point of this thread was that being close to power, without principle, is very very dangerous, and we should follow and appreciate the Ulama of the Salaf for warning us about this matter.
May Allaah Protect us from the evils of the corrupt tawagheet
