Life is like a video game. Your performance in the world depends on your unlocked stats. You’re capable of doing amazing things, but unless you unlock these potentials that is all they will ever be; potentials. Your performance in the real world depends on some factors including:
 How you treat yourself
 How you are perceived by others
 Your ability to influence others
 How you are perceived by others
 Your ability to influence others
If you treat yourself badly, people will write you off. If people perceive you poorly, you’ll miss a lot of opportunities. If you have no influence, it’ll be extremely difficult to get ahead.
So for an upgrade, it makes sense to focus on the things that enhance these three key factors. Let’s unlock some vital stats.
Posture
When dealing with people in formal settings, you want to have a power pose. What does this look like? When you sit, both legs touch the ground FIRMLY. If both legs aren’t touching the ground, then you’re sitting in an intimidating manner: crossed legs.

When dealing with strangers, stand firmly. Don’t bend to one side. Don’t support yourself with the nearest wall.
Dressing
You must dress for the occasion. Take time to work on your wardrobe. Throw away the garbage. Get some suits if you have none. No oversized clothing. Nothing too tight. Nothing too colorful. The better dressed you are, the more confident you will feel.

A great outfit boosts your ability to interact with people effortlessly; sloppy dressing makes you feel like you're worth less.
Invest in high-quality shoes. They are the first thing people look at when you show up. Get the highest quality ones you can afford.

How You Speak + Tone
If you’re a man, what you say is often less important than how you say it + the tone of your voice while saying it.

You may have the best ideas, and you may be saying the most valuable things in the conversation, but if your voice is shrill and your pace is 3x sounding like a fast-forwarded audio, nobody will take you seriously.
Slow down, and try to make your voice as deep as possible.

Don’t change your voice though, there is a limit to the amount of bass your natural voice can have. You’ll notice in the mornings when you wake up you have more bass than later in the day. When you slow down, the bass is at its max, when you speed up, it goes to min.
Where You Go
You shouldn’t be found just anywhere.
Perhaps you’re going to see a friend there; perhaps you are passing by there. But certain places shouldn’t be graced with your presence. People should be able to say “Nah, John can never be here, that’s impossible.”

As a side note, keep your movements silent. People don’t have to know where you are or when you’re going where.
Dealing With NPCs
As an active player in the game, you will interact with a lot of NPCs. Just characters going about their day, helping you get ahead, perhaps providing you with some sort of service; the taxi driver, the waitress, the hotel attendant, etc.

Treat them well, and keep your interactions with them minimal. These people often have nothing useful to tell you. Tip the waitress, let the taxi driver keep the change, and tip the hotel attendant. These things will be recorded in the NPC's memory. Don't argue with NPCs.
Dealing With Active Characters
Now that you’ve upgraded your posture, upgraded your wardrobe, upgraded how you speak, set some rules on where to go and how to interact with NPC, it is time to enhance your perception and how to deal with other players.

Some things like your health are positive-sum games. Everybody can be healthy, and your being healthy does not affect my health. But, other things are zero-sum games.
We can’t all have Ferraris if there are only 50 left in the world.
We can’t all have Ferraris if there are only 50 left in the world.
You need to recognize when something is a zero-sum game and compete. A big part of that is recognizing when someone is trying to play a fast one on you. You’ll usually encounter such from other characters trying to get ahead like you are.
Improving your chances of being successful means learning human behavior, recognizing manipulation, and being able to deal with both in a manner that favors you.
It’s just lame to be so great at everything else in life yet continually get duped, swindled, one-upped, etc.
Skill + Expertise
What are you good at?
It doesn’t make any sense to be a well-dressed, outspoken, walking-like-a-god, full-of-knowledge character who has zero monetizable skill.

You need to gather your $$$ to unlock new locations (travel) and buy equipment that’ll make your mission go faster. Work on your skill relentlessly until you are the best at it. This is the final step to a real upgrade.
You must hone your skill and aim for perfection.
