Damn, that's attacking. It suits Neymar as all he has to do is rotate with Richarlison to mark the #6 in the 4-4-1-1 press. Vinicius & Raphinha may also be very attacking as a combination on the sides but Danilo & Alex Sandro are conservative in nature so won't bomb on too much.
Paqueta, though, is *not* a natural double pivot player, and that in tandem with the lack of press resistance in Danilo and Alex Sandro makes this Brazil team vulnerable to being pressed. They have unbelievable outlets so it's a risk to press them but they can be exploited there.
This Brazil attack is amazing but I'm not as sold on them as others are yet. There's still areas of concern in that team - they lack natural passers to control the flow and press resistance at fullback combined with being open at times in transition & passive in the 4-4-1-1 press
Those are significant issues which contribute to a loss of control. I would consider Spain (as I said pre-tournament) to be more likely to win than them. They exert more control on games. However, in saying that, it's also clear that international teams don't need to be flawless.
Look at the last 3 title winning teams - Portugal (pressing), France (pressing) & Italy (pressing vs four at the back teams) were all flawed in their own right and individual quality combined with general balance is often enough to win these tournaments. Brazil need to find that.
But, in saying that, we cannot ignore their faults. Neymar is passive in the 4-4-1-1 press meaning the opposition can keep the ball against them in settled play. They may lack compactness centrally if Paqueta drifts too high and Vinicius or Raphinha don't track back on the sides.
They also lack press resistance at fullback and in midfield against high presses whilst lacking that natural tempo setter which are essential tools for non-elite tactical teams (which is the case for every team at international level). They don't have a Busquets or a Modric.
The closest thing they have to that is Bruno Guimarรฃes and I think he should certainly play. Fred may have the profile for it but he lacks the necessary quality. Guimarรฃes, on the other hand is the right fit, & should be in that team over Paqueta to offer A) presence & B) passing
