@HassansPropaga1 Every chronicle puts the numbers of Muslims much higher than Christian numbers. The fact that Muslims had a higher number is not disputed by any chronicle.
The estimates are always inflated, you put the numbers down for both sides and you usually get the right number.
@HassansPropaga1 I would assume the estimates for Montgisard for crusaders also come from estimates of overall manpower of Kingdom of Jerusalem, which was not that big to begin with and a lot of knights also left for campaign in the north. So a number of around 5000 seems plausible.
@HassansPropaga1 For the Muslim side it's harder to estimate because the crusaders did not face the entire Saladin's army.
It's also hard to estimate how many Saladin's soldiers were actually engaging in combat.
The numbers I gave are estimates for the army he brought to campaign.
@HassansPropaga1 So the most generous estimates for the Muslim side could be that the number of soldiers that engaged crusaders in Montgisard were about equal, and that the rest of Saladin's army was not involved/scattered.
But number of crusaders couldn't be much more than 5000 in any case.
