Hard truth about wallets collecting IP addresses:
Most of them do (read the ToS).
If you do not like it, it is ok. Do not use those wallets (ours included)
I get why some people do not like it.
Now, let's look at the other side
1. crypto wallets do not collect nominative data or residence details to use the core functions of the wallet. it s not like an exchange where KYC is mandatory
2. IP allows to make the service experience better. eg localization in your language or when you buy instead of randomly selecting a country or a currency you get the right one at zero tap
3. Helps with security/fraud detection/prevention/insurance if your account is used randomly in new geos for eg
4. You can always use a VPN, but VPNs also connect IPs.
5. Even wallets do not collect at all IP addresses; your public address will be at some point tied to an exchange deposit where your identity is fully known (unless you lie)
6. People on Twitter showcasing their ENS or providing wallet addresses are exposing themselves way more
7. All transactions on blockchains are public, and companies specialize in deanonymizing them, tracing back on/off ramp companies. Wallets don't even need to help here
If you care about privacy as a primary feature, then use free, open-source stuff and run your own nodes with a strong VPN and avoid everything else.
