11 abilities everyone should learn before 30s:
| Thread
#1 Self-reflecting
Always reflect on yourself at the end of the day.
• What have you done today?
• Are you 1% better than yesterday?
• Are you still happy doing whatever you are doing?
Fix the problems when they are still small.
#2 Letting Go
The past is not there for you to rewind it’s bitterness.
It’s there to teach you lessons.
Remember:
If looking back is painful, not moving FORWARDS will be worse.
#3 Communicating
Be articulate. Never be mediocre.
There is no place for UNCERTAIN statements in society.
And you certainly don’t want to be taken advantage of just because you didn’t explain enough.
When in doubts, ask.
When in agreements, admit.
When in disagreements, oppose.
#4 Compromising
There will be things you can’t and shouldn’t change:
• Your family background
• Your “friends” not willing to grow
• Your mistakes which has already happened
Sometimes walking away quietly or accepting it as it is are just better choices.
#5 Listening
Listening is one of the best gift you can give others.
It’s a way to show respects and a way to calm people.
More importantly, it’s a way to see one’s true colour with observations.
#6 Giving
You may not receive more after giving more.
But you will DEFINITELY not receive more if you don’t give.
Things usually don’t happen as expected.
That’s why you need to give without expecting things for return.
#7 Rejecting
Learn to say “no”.
It’s not a way to tell others that you don’t like them.
It’s a way to tell others you need time loving yourself.
#8 Reading
Knowledge doesn’t come from TikTok.
Knowledge doesn’t come from Netflix.
Knowledge comes from books and self-education.
If you don’t spend time taking in knowledge everyday, you are not trying to live a better life.
#9 Note-taking
Stop making excuses that you can’t write while listening.
You can’t remember everything without taking notes. Neither does the top 1%.
If you care to go beyond where you are now, start taking notes.
#10 Driving
Driving is not just a skill.
Driving is:
• A great step towards independence
• A sign of you’re capable of going anywhere YOU WANT
• A milestone where you start shouldering responsibilities for what you do
#11 Cooking
There is no better way to save money while having enough nutritions than cooking.
If you can save $20 a day by cooking instead of buying foods, it’s $7300 A YEAR.
Not to mention it’s a skill ALWAYS CAPABLE OF promoting yourself anywhere.
