The scholars of Islam and the students of knowledge in the true sense of the word are people of extreme humility. It is as if the more they learn and are blessed with understanding of Shariah, the more they show a modest or low estimate of their importance. This is worth learning
Wallahi I met with renowned scholars and students of knowledge and nothing strikes me more than their humility and seriousness in teaching and seeking for knowledge. Their character is light years away from what you and I display when we have little or what looks like knowledge.
When they teach, they nurture. Their patience and their emphasis on putting knowledge into practice will leave an indelible impression in the minds of those that learn under their feet. They are ever ready to teach and encourage students. These scholars are rare gem.
Yesterday, someone asked shaykh Muhammad bin Umar Baazmool () on how to impact the knowledge they are getting from him and other scholars to their people if they return home, he said, β€œput it into practice and they will see the knowledge you have acquired.” This is golden.
Busy yourself with what is important and don’t occupy yourself with what is not. All knowledge we seek for are a means to understanding Qur’an and Sunnah. So don’t be stuck in the means while forgetting the purpose.
Be sincere in learning and teaching and hope for success from Allah.
When you have a feel of how humble the great scholars are, you will understand our steep the journey ahead is for us.
