How to position yourself on Twitter as an authority in your niche
(Pick 1 of these 2 ways):
We'll cover
1. The two most powerful types of positioning I've seen
2. Examples of each and how people around you already do it
3. A quick exercise to find your natural positioning
Let's do it:
Let's say you're selling lemonade. You can choose between 2 places:
A) Winter in Alaska
B) Summer in Texas
What you sell remains the same. Your skill remains the same.
Yet you'd sell out in Texas and sell nothing in Alaska.
That's why positioning matters.
Positioning allows you to change nothing about what you sell or how good you are.
And still make more money than people who sell better stuff and do a better job.
Just because you picked your positioning and they didn't:
POSITIONING OPTION #1: COMPETE
This positioning answers "What false beliefs does your target market believe to be true?"
Example: Me.
My market believes that you need a big account to monetize.
I took a false belief (growth = cash) and COMPETED against it:
POSITIONING OPTION #2: COMPLETE
This positioning answers "What are the missing pieces in the market's current solutions?"
Example: Zappos
Online customer service is a painful experience.
Zappos took a missing piece (good customer service) and COMPLETED the market with it.
Here's an example of the same solutions positioned differently.
Notice how both positionings can work with the same solution:
Struggling to pick one?
Here's a fun exercise:
1. Grab pen & paper
2. Split the page in 2
3. On one side, write all the FALSE BELIEFS and on the other, all the MISSING PIECES in your market
4. Pick the one that feels the most natural to you

If you always get the price objection it's probably because your positioning is wrong.
