I'm an Ironman but the Covid lockdowns smashed me.
2 years ago, I was lost and numb to life. 6 months ago, I lost my job.
Today, I'm making 5 figures/mo helping men and I've never been happier.
Here are the 8 things you can do today that I used to rebuild myself:
March 2020 feels like a lifetime ago. So much has happened since then. The world doesn't look the same and neither do most people.
Many are still dealing with isolated and broken spirits. If you're looking to finally move forward here's where to start:
1) Time alone
The world wants to feed you its ideas of what and how to think. You need to figure out what you think and who you are. Set aside 30 minutes/day to be alone with your thoughts.
-No distractions
-No technology
-No expectations
Get comfortable being with yourself.
2) Unpack your ideas
Once you get comfortable being alone create structure around this time. Develop a routine that works best for you. For ex:
-10 min journaling
-10 min breath work
-10 min walk outside
This time will allow you to organize your ideas and find your passions.
3) Screen your inputs
Everything in life has a positive or negative impact on your life including your:
-Food
-News
-Coworkers
-Social media
-Relationships
Identify those areas holding you back and either limit time around them or remove them altogether.
4) Prioritize your nutrition
It should be obvious after the past couple years that its your responsibility to take control of your health. No one is coming to save you.
Commit to one week of a high protein whole foods diet. Your energy, sleep, and outlook will quickly improve.
5) Lift weights
This has tremendous metabolic effects on your health but will do even more for your confidence and broken spirit.
You are teaching yourself to overcome resistance in the gym and in life.
Life has thrown a lot at you and it's time to fight back.
6) Find tribe
You need to be comfortable with yourself but you can't build alone. Reach out to people you admire or who are a couple of steps ahead of you.
Set a goal to reach out to one person a week and find a core of 3-5 likeminded people to support you and build alongside.
7) Get uncomfortable
Life is too comfortable. You must choose discomfort to grow. Lean into the things that scare you:
-Public speaking
-Sign up for a race
-Have that difficult conversation
These will build your self belief. Allow the resistance you feel to be your compass.
8) Serve others
As you continue to build yourself chasing money, popularity, and stuff will lose their significance. Your spirit will come alive serving others. It's what you were created for and where true purpose is found.
8 ways to rebuild yourself:
1) Time alone
2) Unpack your ideas
3) Screen your inputs
4) Prioritize you nutrition
5) Lift Weights
6) Find tribe
7) Get uncomfortable daily
8) Serve others
