2. Monthly costs for child care range from $181 to $1,986 CAD, depending on the province
3. There are regulated and unregulated child care services in Canada.
4. Regulated child cares services are monitored & licensed by provincial and territorial authorities while unregulated child care services are not monitored by the government authorities.
5. Most of the child care spaces in Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, and Newfoundland and Labrador are at a provincially set fee making child care relatively affordable in these provinces.
6. Infant, toddler & preschool-age child care in Toronto is the most expensive, with a monthly median cost of $1,866, $1,578, and $1,250 CAD, respectively.
7. Quebec (Gatineau, Laval, Montreal, Longueuil, and Quebec City) has the lowest fees for infant care, where the median fee is the provincially-set fee of $181 CAD a month.
