Most times, they want peace not because they have the energy to go for it. But because they always imagine their standing before Allah. Therefore, they try to settle their scores with people and hold no grudges towards anyone.
As a muslim, that day should always be your concern

We can't reason nor behave just like anyone. We have a religion and rules guiding us.
We can't always think and follow everything the society says and does. We can't afford to reset our psychology to how the society wants.
We believe we'd meet Allah and account.

It doesn't mean you are a fool or a stupid person.
When we imagine the standing before Allah, we begin to address and see things differently.
When we read stories of the righteous people, we see things and imagine their levels of eeman to able to take what they took, say what

they said, ignored what they ignored, addressed what they addressed and all that and you get so astonished.
All were all from the angle of taqwa and ihsan.
