Those unrealistic notions of love that women read in novels and subsequently daydream about is slowly catching up on us. Those utopian love stories makes it hard for men to compete with in reality, while raising the expectations of women to unrealistic levels.
Islam is replete with beautiful love stories about our prophets AS, Rasool SAW, shahabas RA, and pious predecessors.
These are the stories our young ladies and men need to be reading about, sacrifices for the sake of Allah.
Not from people who glorify love to unattainable levels.

We have the akhira and working towards that, that alone streamlines our worldview into obeying Allah SWT and abiding by His rules and regulations.
They don’t. They don’t have any hope. They don’t work towards a next life, this is it for them and why we can’t imitate them.

HEDONISM is what Western civilization is all about and its ideology. The pursuit of Maximum pleasure in this world as the highest good and proper aim of human life. That’s why they go to lengths in glorifying money, status, Senseless pursuit of sexual relations and pop culture.
Thinking you can do anything you wish is from western ideology, they think this way because they don’t follow anything comcrete except their desires and whims and also the fact that they do not believe in the hereafter. So they strive to chill because this dunya is all they have.
And what did Allah say about this dunya?
“…Are you pleased with the life of this world (dunya) rather than the hereafter (Aakhira)? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter” (Al-Tawbah: 38).
“…Are you pleased with the life of this world (dunya) rather than the hereafter (Aakhira)? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter” (Al-Tawbah: 38).
“And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But far better is the house in the hereafter for those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious). Will you not then understand?” (Al-An’aam: 32)
“…as compared with the life of the hereafter, the life of this world is nothing but a brief passing enjoyment” (Ar-Rad: 26).
This life is nothing. Douse down those expectations.
