'Speaking up' is a relentless need/demand/expectation in a democracy. Who should speak up, against whom, who can, who cannot. Except when privileged Muslims are expected to speak up against regressive Maulanas I am told it's not important that everybody speaks up.
Speaking up is important no matter how many excuses and justification one may conjure to stay conspicuously silent in this never ending identity politics using flat binary of Hindu supremacist and Muslim victim. There's more to it. Speak up.
Since last night, a particular community of ex-Muslim is trying to reach out to me various ways, emails, FB comments and sharing this image. I am yet to check out who they are or how authentic their voices. Sharing it as received. I will find out more and update this space.
