If you are a Muslim and you identify as one on this app and associate with other Muslims, you are blessed. You are blessed because you have brothers and sisters that would always criticize you and help you get better with your Deen and approach to life.
Their criticism might be harsh/mild but you can always find sincerity and know fully well that they do it only because you identify as a Muslim, a member of their community. If they do not warn one another against evil and command goodness, they wouldn't be Muslims. See Q3: 110.
Muslims don't ever have a convergence or agreement or unite on a sinful matter. If you find support from non-Muslims and nominal Muslims for an action that you did while truly known Muslims are against such action, please take caution and follow the right path.
It does not imply that the Muslims are policing you or finding faults in you. They are only obeying Allah and wanting goodness for you like they want it for themselves. So, please don't be defensive. Praise Allah for the blessing of having such people around you and listen.
When we love, we love for the sake of Allah. When we unlove, we do so for the sake of Allah. This is what it means to be Muslims. As Muslims, we must always love one another irrespective of our sins and mistakes. We must always correct one another when there is a need for it.
Looking away from a sinful thing while one hates it in his/her heart is the weakest of faith. Speaking against it and asking that one adjusts and does better is the best of faith. Please, enjoy the community of believers and never be deceived by those who encourage you in sin.
Everyone is a sinner but the worst of sinners are those who justify their sins and arrogantly promote it without restraints or boast about it in the public. May Allah rectify our affairs, forgive our sins and make all of us better. ΔmΔ«n.
