@finpel_dorred right, Eiffel Tower makes sense.
There are two Schelling Points for personhood. Conception and Birth
But one of these has a huge problem
@finpel_dorred 50%+ of the fetuses that are conceived are broken. Like, the thing doesn't work properly. And it's crazy to try to save them all. Nature automatically aborts more than half.
1 in 4 are noticable... but another 25% happen too early to notice
@finpel_dorred These proto-humans should not be saved. There's plenty more where they came from (just have sex again and make another one). And because they are broken, if you try to save them all you would ruin our species.
@finpel_dorred DS are a tiny fraction that slip through the cracks. But we can give nature a helping hand. Abort them!
@finpel_dorred Reductio ad Hitlerium doesn't really make sense here.
Hitler was happy to kill living people post birth. Oftentimes in cruel ways. That's not the same thing.
@finpel_dorred Birth as a Schelling Point prevents slippery slopes. We all agree that that's the point where the "audition for humanity" becomes a real human.
