The tsarina of Russia was supposed to give birth with midwives, her husband, older relatives, and sometimes with a minister, immediately after the birth of a tsarevich or tsarevna was announced a decree-manifesto on the birth of a royal baby, where the king himself inscribed
the name.
All the more strange to read "Genesis of the Russian Tsars" by I. Zabelin, who was surprised to find that there is not a single document or mention of the birth of Peter 1. The official announcement of the birth of the heir? A manifesto? Entries in the personal diarie
diaries of courtiers or in letters? Nothing. Not even the place of birth is known.
This also surprised M.Bogoslovsky: "There were various legends about his place of birth, which was not precisely designated in the official announcements...
About the time, or rather about the hour, of Peter's birth there is also disagreement.
