@dancerinspace This is how I am leaning toward interpreting it as well. The relationship between intelligence and attractiveness in the main Driebe study in that article was null, so it isn't that women find low IQ men more attractive. It would be that IQ has no effect.
@dancerinspace Given no effect of IQ on sexual selection, its impact becomes behavioral on the part of men. High IQ men being more restricted, forming relationships longer, etc. Low IQ men engaging in less restricted and shorter relationships, breaking up more often, etc.
@dancerinspace There is another interesting one similar to this: dominance.
Men who have more dimorphic faces and who are rated higher in dominance by other men have more sexual partners on average. However, women don't rate these men as more facially attractive, nor more sexually desirable.
@dancerinspace Something else interesting in the Driebe study cited in the article is that women did great men that they perceived as being more intelligent more attractive.
However, when they measured IQ there was no relationship.
So perception of intelligence seems to matter too...
