You didn’t make it past the interview for 1 reason…
You weren’t memorable.
Here are 5 tips to make sure you’re never forgotten again:
1. Ask Questions So They Talk About Themselves.
Everyone loves to talk about themselves, so ask questions that get them talking.
Ask about how their career has evolved at the company. What's the biggest challenge they're facing?
Get them talking and they'll remember you.
2. Heavily Research the Company.
How do you know what questions to ask? You research the company.
See what's happening on their LinkedIn. Are they in the news (for something good)?
Spend more than 15 minutes and you'll be more prepared than most.
3. Offer What Makes You Unique.
The worst interviews are the ones where we just ask and answer questions.
The most important thing I want to know is you.
How will you fit into the team?
Do your personality and values align with the company?
What makes you worth hiring?
4. Tell Interesting Stories.
The best way to share anything is to tell stories.
"I had that same problem until I did ____"
"Let me tell you about a time when ____"
"That reminds me of ____"
This builds authenticity.
5. Share Your Passions.
So few actually talk about what drives them.
You immediately stand out for being unique and it's unforgettable to witness.
Listening to someone tell a story about the work they're passionate about hooks you in and doesn't let go.
TL;DR 5 tips to make sure you’re never forgotten again
1. Get Them to Talk About Themselves
2. Heavily Research the Company
3. Offer What Makes You Unique
4. Tell Interesting Stories
5. Share Your Passions
