In the 2009 UCL final, Ronaldo kept taking shots from outside the box going for the spectacular. He was never a threat on the ball and didn’t create any meaningful chances.
In 2010 in the Round of 16 of the UCL, he scored in the 2nd leg but was absolutely nonexistent in the first leg which is what cost Madrid the tie.
In the 2010 World Cup, Ronaldo faced Brazil which he made no impact in. And the game ended 0-0.
In the 2010 World Cup against Spain, he was awful. Created no chances. Had 0 successful dribbles out of 4 attempts. Was barely a threat on goal.
In the 2011 Copa Del Rey final he had a fairly good performance and scored the winner. So I will give him credit for that.
In the UCL semi finals in 2011, Ronaldo was awful in both legs. In the 2nd leg he didn’t even have a shot. He created no chances in either leg.
In the UCL semi final in 2012, other than a 2 yard pass he made no impact in the first leg and despite scoring twice he missed a penalty in the shootout. But I was told only Messi misses crucial penalties.
In the UCL semi final in 2013, other than a tap in scored from a defensive error. He did nothing. Didn’t cause any danger to Dortmund. Didn’t create meaningful chances. And was KO’d.
In the 2013 Copa Del Rey final, Ronaldo did score the opening goal but got sent off resulting in his team playing the last 5 minutes with 10 men killing hopes of coming back.
In the 2014 UCL final, Real Madrid won in extra time but Ronaldo basically made no impact in the game and scored a penalty while they were already 3-1 up.
In the 2014 World Cup, Portugal slumped to a 4-0 defeat against Germany in which Ronaldo made no impact whatsoever and took the most embarrassing free kick of all time. He would eventually get KO’d in the group stages.
In the 2015 UCL Semi final Ronaldo scored in both legs but other than that he made no impact on the game and never looked like scoring more or creating opportunities for his teammates to score.
In the 2016 UCL final despite scoring the winning penalty he did nothing during the regular game time. Carried.
In the 2017 UCL final he scored 2 goals which I will give him credit for. But he didn’t do anything else during the game.
In the UCL semi finals against Bayern in 2018, he made 0 impact in both legs not even having a shot on target in the first leg. Once again bailed out by his teammates.
In the 2018 UCL final he made no impact whatsoever and was pocketed by TAA. He even missed a big chance. But once again he was bailed out by his teammates and won his 3rd UCL in a row.
In the 2018 World Cup against Uruguay, Ronaldo made zero impact whatsoever and Portugal failed to make the quarterfinals for the 3rd World Cup in a row
In the UCL quarterfinals vs Ajax in 2019 Ronaldo did score in both legs but other than those goals he did nothing else in the game to get them to win and they were KO’d.
In the Coppa Italia final in 2020, Ronaldo made no impact once again as his team lost on penalties to Napoli to lose the cup. He ended up not taking a single penalty due to him wanting to take the 5th kick, but Juventus lost before the 5th kick.
In the UCL R16 against Lyon in 2020, Ronaldo was awful in the first leg. Having 0 shots on target and creating 0 chances. This was a ghostly performance. He did score twice in the 2nd leg but he missed a big chance and the damage was already done in the first leg.
In the UCL R16 in 2021 against Porto, he made no impact in the first leg and was downright awful in the 2nd leg. Not only did he complete 0 dribbles out of 3 attempts in the 2nd leg but he was directly responsible for their winning goal because he let the ball go under him.
In the 2021 coppa italia final he was alright but didn’t do anything spectacular to help them win. Juventus did win though with the help of his teammates.
In Euro 2020 or 2021, Portugal got knocked out by Belgium. Ronaldo despite creating some chances made no impact towards their goal and only had 1 shot on target from outside the box. Again choking in a big game at a tournament.
In the UCL R16 against Atletico Madrid, Ronaldo was terrible in both legs not having a shot on target in either and not even having a shot in the 2nd leg. He also created 0 chances in both legs. Just an all round abject performance from Ronaldo.
In the nations league in 2022, Portugal just needed a draw at home against Spain to get to the semi finals and they fucking lost. Mainly due to Ronaldo missing 3 clear cut chances. This was easily one of his worst performances in a Portugal shirt.
In the 2022 World Cup against Morocco, Ronaldo was benched after a diabolical performance against South Korea and after Portugal beat Switzerland 6-1 with him on the bench. He came on and made no threat to the Moroccan goal. And just like that his World Cup dreams were over.
