@Manlaibaatr @xuezhao The quality of a sweater is more than just where the fiber was sourced. Most cashmere fiber is sourced from Mongolia, China, and parts of Afghanistan. Yet, we see dramatically different qualities of cashmere knitwear.
@Manlaibaatr @xuezhao Thinking that the primary determinant of a cashmere knit is the source of the fiber is like thinking that a top-rated chef and I will produce the same dish if we use the same tomatoes. The quality of the fiber, spinning, knitting, and finishing will determine quality of knit.
@Manlaibaatr @xuezhao Over the course of many hundreds of years, globalization has made it so that different parts of the world specialize in diff things. These specialties come together as a production chain. Ricardo and Adam Smith wrote about specialization in labor.

But certainly, if you could concentrate all the specialities in one area—design; farming of fiber; making of machines; carding, combing, and spinning of yarn; knitting of sweater; finishing of sweater; and then marketing...
