Ibn ‘Atā’illāh al-Sakandarī رضي الله عنه says:
"The most feared of sins are the minor ones. Major sins are seen as hugely troublesome thus are repented from. As for minor sins, there is a chance of not repenting from them.

It is like someone who meets a lion that Allah saves him from, just for him to be defeated by 50 wolves.
Allah ﷻ says: {You think it is minor, when it is great in the sight of Allah} al-Nūr, 15

And when you are adamant on the minor sin, it becomes a major sin, for poison kills even when it is small and minor.
The minor sin is like a spark of fire, as small as it is, it can burn down a city."
