unity's new spline tools are looking too good now, I don't think it's financially viable for me to finish and release my spline plugin anymore
I guess it's meeting the same fate as my recorder plugin, and for the same reason
which, sucks, I was really excited about this
I'm not saying this to blame them or anything, it's good that unity devs are getting officially supported splines, I'm just, personally really bummed out about it
it doesn't help that I just released a video compressing several months of research into one hour making it very easy for them to take about 50% of what used to be my edge
sometimes I feel like all my educational stuff is just doing everything to dilute my skills and worth as a developer, effectively making me more and more useless as someone you'd hire or even pay for anything, because I've given most of it away
I'm keenly aware of just how much more I could make if I wasn't releasing my educational content for free
now I'm effectively helping others make money I'll never see, or even know I helped them make, because I will go uncredited, and I'll just be a useful tool in the background
I'm not sure what my point is. I just feel bad right now
okay so @SomeHoopyFrood reached out about their (unity's) spline tools and made me feel a little more reassured and calm ❤
looks like there might be a space for mine after all, as a more advanced/feature-rich spline plugin
