These are good lines. So many Dharmic thinkers may have said similar lines. But why cancel Ngugi because of that? Yes he is a darling of certain pockets of Left. In India .. In Rest of World..

If i remember right he was in Hyderabad sometime ago and some hardcore Leftist Telugu folks were with him. Total anti state regime change operator revolutionary Naxalite kind ppl also read his work seeking inspiration.

I read his works. I could sense the leftist twang but I could also see value. So much of what he writes on African experience under colonisers is so relatable.

But i don't look at him for solutions. I look towards my own tradition, culture etc.

The value of the entire Decolonisation bandwagon is in triggering you towards your own. If i am not what the coloniser said who I am then Who am I really.

But it is one among many paths. There are thinkers in Indian languages and Dharmagurus who have said similar things without using that vocabulary. Sure it is not like a mandatory course everyone has to take.
