For $4 an hour, you can hire a team of VAs that will scale your e-commerce store to $500,000 a month.
In 6 months.
Here's how.
// THREAD // ๐Ÿงต
When starting off your eCom journey it's key to not direct your attention to the fancy details.
The perfect website, logo, and design aren't reasonable starting.
Hiring a team of VAs is what you need to be focusing on, a quality team.
STEP 1๏ธโƒฃ - Creating the Job Description ๐Ÿ“œ
A good place to find talent is Upwork or Fiverr.
We want to create a descriptive title fully detailing the role we want to be filled for our store.
Your first hire should be an operator, so they should be doing product uploads and customer service.
Build excitement in your post, and outline that it is an amazing opportunity for them.
Because it is, and they'll know that if you pitch well enough
Add a hint of commitment toward the candidate's growth and development
Also, include a "hidden challenge" that they must complete to be considered for the job.
For example, halfway through the message include
"Put [x] in your reply"
So we know they actually read it that far.
Typically 75%+ of people won't follow this instruction and will be weeded out.
Now for the actual job title, you should name it something like this:
"[Your Company Name] New [Position to be Hired]"
Here's an example post.

STEP 2๏ธโƒฃ - The Application Form ๐Ÿ“
You'll most likely receive hundreds of requests because the opportunity is great.
This is why it's critical to have an eye out for the following criteria after you've weeded through the 75%+ that didn't adhere to the challenge we spoke about.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Personalized cover letter. Delete any templates or ones that are clearly just copied and pasted.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Good writing
๐Ÿ‘‰ Experiences in this sort of role
๐Ÿ‘‰ Passion/Real desire for the position and excitement arising out of the job description
๐Ÿ‘‰ A strong โ€œwhyโ€
Once this is complete, send the following application form to roughly the top 20-25 candidates.
Based on your responses, create a Calendly event for 1 week with interview times when you are available.

Step 3๏ธโƒฃ - Interview 1 - Getting to Know the Candidate ๐Ÿ™‹
You should now have 5 candidates lined up for interviews.
The goal of the interview is not only to get to know them but find out if they are a person you'd share a beer with.
Loyalty and trust are important.
Here are some questions you should ask your candidate, score each one 1-10.
๐Ÿ‘‰ What is their work history?
๐Ÿ‘‰ 3-4 interesting things that they wrote on their interview form
๐Ÿ‘‰ Is it ever okay to lie?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Do they have Shopify/eCom experience?
๐Ÿ‘‰ What's their ideal job?
And the final question
Ask them to teach you something, anything they want
Don't say anything and wait till they respond
Depending on how unique and thorough their answer is, score it 1-10
Make sure in the interview to create a conversation around everything question you ask
Select the top two candidates based on your scorings using the following sheet.

STEP 4๏ธโƒฃ - Interview 2 (Final Round)
You should now have 2 fantastic candidates chosen.
We are now looking for a commitment to the role and a desire for a long-term position.
To find that out we need to ask more detailed questions like the following.
๐Ÿ‘‰ How many jobs have they had in the past? Look for evidence of loyalty
๐Ÿ‘‰ Have they managed people before?
๐Ÿ‘‰ What would this job mean to you?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Please explain product upload/customer service/order submissions experience
๐Ÿ‘‰ If you were us, why should we hire you?
Score each question and candidate and by the end, you should have a rockstar that is going to make your life much easier.
Repeat this process for all of your future positions and you'll have a team of outstanding talent that will help scale your store to well over 6 figures.
