Outside of client delivery, onboarding is the most important part of retaining a client
Your first impressions matter, and science proves it with two principles:
Priming
Planting the seed
1- Priming
When onboarding a client, your words matter
What you say evokes emotion & emotions evoke feelings
The way we correlate our feelings with the outside world dictates where we put our focus and energy
The scientific principle for this is called priming
This concepts states that humans are easily influenced by our environment
Tony Robbins explains this principle well here:

In order to increase LTV using this principle, you have to stack the cards in your favor when you onboard a client:
• Congratulate them for an investment instead of thanking them
• Begin making value added intros to:
-Potential partners
-Potential Clients
Typical acknowledgements like "We're so excited to partner with you" doesn't evoke anything from a new client
You're excited. So what?
When we execute on the above items, add massive value, we unconsciously make an impression that we are safe and a good investment
Leverage the above principles, and watch LTV increase 🤑
The second you close a deal, customer success starts
Paint clients a picture of what success WILL look like and make them excited
This is called (2) "Planting the seed"
The concept of planting the seed is simple
When our unconscious mind creates a belief of what the future will look like, it will do everything to ensure that belief happens
The reason this happens is due to confirmation bias

If we can plant the idea in our clients head that we are going to be wildly successful with them, they will unconsciously look for every reason to ensure that happens
This is planting the seed in action
Here is an example
"I am so excited to see the look on your face in 90 days when you tell us how excited you are that your business has added $30,000 in new MRR"
When this is said with conviction, clients will LATCH onto this (unconsciously)
Here is why this is important:
Clients will be more forgiving if you make mistakes
Clients who believe you'll make them successful will wait longer for results
Clients who believe in you will make more referrals
Planting the seed shapes everything with our client
