Amazing book on the 1992 exchange rate mechanism crisis by @willem_buiter, Corsetti and Pesenti. I think it's very connected to the current euro area situation, but more on this in a few months.
Classic paper on some international aspects of the Great Depression, suggesting that monetary and exchange rate policy do matter cambridge.org
