@DrCamRx @jakozloski Some time ago, I think (maybe?) from @hsu_steve or Laurent Tellier at a talk, I heard the idea of doing backwards-looking GWAS on, say, huge cohorts of top g-loaded exam scoring students and top intramural athletes to identify common SNPs among those who ended up being successful
@DrCamRx @jakozloski @hsu_steve I mention this because some of these traits/measure operationalizations are to a degree rivalrous, if not fundamental trade-offs:
sciencedirect.com
lup.lub.lu.se
sciencedaily.com
@DrCamRx @jakozloski @hsu_steve Self-reporting/estimation errors, observer biases, etc. can all melt away if you're asking the question 'What are the gene loci commonalities between the big winners, the big losers, and what seems to explain very little variance?' retrospectively - molecules are better measured.
@DrCamRx @jakozloski @hsu_steve (notice also that IQ and conscientiousness, while apparently a balancing act in boys, positively predict one another in girls - and how many endless "female founder" vs "entitled men" twitters wars are there already? too many imho!)
