Black man throws random 5-year-old white boy off a balcony—later says he “was looking for someone to kill.” Boy suffers life-threatening injuries: broken arms, broken leg, skull fractures, has to undergo emergency brain surgery. White mom: I forgive the man.
Couldn’t be me.
The thing about this guy too is that he has a history of violence and he was utterly remorseless when sentenced for trying to murder this little boy. This isn’t theology—it’s a mind virus affecting white people. abcnews.go.com
To be clear, I feel *sorry* for people who think they have to live like this. They’re ultimately victims. You saw this with the killing Elijah DeWitt and the swift forgiveness by the family who all assumed his killers’ socioeconomic backgrounds” made them do it.
Those demanding instant, unconditional forgiveness are also the ones least likely to support the death penalty and generally support policies that allow these people to reoffend. And that is the rub. It is an extremely modern, disarmed theology that is utterly suicidal.
