Before listening to anyone, ask yourself: is this person a Hindu? Are they truly proud of their Hindu origin?
If not, don't listen to a word they say

Is this person proud of being Hindu?
Make this Question No. 1 when considering any opinion or view.
Then, get to the rest.

A simple analogy would be the visa process that a country uses.
It is impossible to know for certain the intent of any visa applicant
But the first question any country asks before issuing visa: will this person be a threat to the nation?
In case of slightest doubt, deny visa
