There are many unpopular young talents, but, I wonder how this one in particular is unknown.
He was born in January 2005, plays as a CB, the internet says he’s 184cm but I think he’s more, and he plays for a Swiss top-flight club Servette.
Diogo Monteiro, a beast in the making.
In October, the starting CB of Servette, Yoan Severin, picked up an injury.
So, the back-up CB, Steve Rouiller, used to be his alternative in the starting lineup.
But, a week before the crucial game against Young Boys, Steve received a red card against Lugano.

So, there was no other choice but to play 17-year-old Diogo Monteiro in a crucial game, Young Boys (1st).
• 6 interceptions
• 5/6 aerial duels won
• 8/9 defensive duels won
• 11 ball recoveries
• 90% passing accuracy.
Against all odds, he delivered as the result was 0:0.
Young Boys were trying to use their pace up-front (& skip build-up) with long balls.
However, they didn’t think that a 17-year-old CB from the academy of Servette would be such a monster.
2 things that I liked specifically:
• how he puts his body
• how he times his jumping
