The “Israeli spy” who “infiltrated” MintPress News.
My new investigation into the curious case of Catherine Perez-Shakdam.
mintpressnews.com
Catherine Perez-Shakdam worked for @MintPressNews between 2014 and 2017. But many, including MintPress management, now believe her to be an Israeli intelligence plant. Find out why.
Regularly quoting Lenin and other radical figures, Catherine Perez-Shakdam (CPS) wrote about Middle Eastern politics, railing against US and Israeli foreign policy and excoriating the Saudi attack on Yemen.
But before MintPress, CPS worked for “private” Israeli-American intelligence firm, WikiStrat.
The head of Wikistrat, the Daily Beast reports, held secret meetings with the Trump administration on how to overthrow the Iranian government.

Perez-Shakdam used her alt. media credibility to become a player in Iranian media.
In 2017, she traveled to Iran and met with top officials, including Ebrahim Raisi (now president) and Ayatollah Khamenei.
But last year, in a series of articles in The Times of Israel, she "came out" as a Jewish Zionist, casting her hijab off forever.
The news caused panic in Iran, as officials struggled to understand how someone they now believed to be a spy could have got so close to power.
Today, CPS has jettisoned her old beliefs and now works for the right-wing think tank, the Henry Jackson Society.
Among the most prominent patrons of the Henry Jackson Society include:
CPS rejects claims shes a spy & has maintained she merely had a "Road to Damascus" moment.
Yet one person close to CPS says she offered them $$$ to photograph and record certain precise Middle Eastern locations. If true, it's hard to see how this surveillance op isnt spy-related
The whole thing is reminiscent of the Mista’arvim - the Israeli intelligence units sent deep under cover to live in Arab neighborhoods to collect data and info on Israel's enemies.
So, is she an intelligence plant, a genuine convert, or simply a calculating careerist who spotted a good opportunity to switch sides?
Perhaps only one person knows for sure. But she's not talking.
